Job Description:
Job DescriptionLINQM is looking for an Accounting Clerk. The
accounting clerk will be responsible for financial transactions,
using excel daily, building reports, and other administrative
tasks. This position is full-time, M-F, from date-of-hire through
the end of August with possibility of extending. The position will
be performed in a hybrid capacity. Your Responsibilities
Include:
- Verify Purchasing-Card transactions with a high degree of
attention to detail and accuracy. This is the primary focus of the
position and during the summer includes the verification of over
100 financial transactions. Stanford University Purchasing Cards
are issued to authorized, trained and active Stanford employees to
purchase eligible goods and services in support of Stanford
University business.
- Review transactions, supporting documentation, journal
postings, etc. for accuracy, consistency, timeliness and
compliance. Examples of duties include assisting Task Owners with
the management of purchase orders, reconciliation of monthly
expenses, and assisting Financial Analyst with fiscal year-end
activities.
- Compile, maintain, and review data reports for accuracy and
completeness. Generate standardized financial reports. This
position will work closely with members of the finance team to
manage ad hoc reports as assigned. Examples of duties include
management of summer transaction reports, upkeep of data-driven
reports pertaining to student enrollment, and creation of reports
exploring the analysis of instructional expenses.
- Maintain accounting/finance departmental files and desktop
procedures and process documents for area of responsibility. This
position will be counted on to uphold University policy, federal
regulations and requirements, and standards pertaining to reports
with sensitive data and information.
- Verify travel card expenses and process reimbursements, on an
as needed basis.
- Assist with routine administrative functions related to course
management, contingent staff onboarding, tracking of training
requirements, and general duties as assigned.Requirements:
- Proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office
suite, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems, internet, and
computer literacy.
- Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively to
internal audiences.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP).
- Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to ensure and apply compliance with financial and
University policies.
