Brief Overview The Director of Laboratory Finance & Business
Operations develops, implements, monitors and tracks the
operational and strategic performance of Lab for continuous
improvement. Supports the oversight and development of frontline
staff, management, and physician engagement through operational
excellence at Stanford Health Care, while driving operational
performance and strategic vision in support of the Administrative
Director. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Analyzes
operations, cost, and productivity to assess variations or trends
for improvements across all lab sites. In conjunction with
Administrative Director, Medical Directors, Faculty, and Managers;
reviews, evaluates and develops action plans to reduce variability,
improve operational performance, and support strategic growth and
development of staff through coaching, mentoring and direct
oversight. Directs and manages the development of standards across
lab services to support alignment to the organizational goals and
strategic vision of Stanford Health Care. Directs and manages
workflows and improvements associated with all operational areas to
meet patient and department needs while upholding community
standards and regulatory requirements. Directs and supervises all
improvement work and workflow initiatives across lab business
operations. Directs operational excellence and strategic planning,
forecasting, staffing models, and predictive modeling in
conjunction with the Administrative Directors and Managers. Meets
with executive leadership, medical leadership, and senior
leadership to provide strategic support and direction for lab in
conjunction with the Administrative Director. Prepares and/or
reviews operational data and KPIs (e.g. analysis, impact,
liability, summary) included in business and clinical operations,
presentations, general policies, etc. utilizing the advice and
approval of legal counsel, regulatory agencies and administration
as needed. Assist in development and management of business
operations functions, including but not limited to a) financial
reporting and monitoring; b) purchase to payment services; c)
business development and capital management; and d) market
analysis, business intelligence, and data analytics. Analyzes
operations, cost, and productivity to assess variations or trends
for improvements across all Lab sites. Oversee Reference Lab
business operations with external clients, inclusive of
contracting, establishing fee schedules, and billing related
functions. Responsibility over Lab Customer Services (critical
result reporting). - - Education Qualifications Bachelor's degree
in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or
university Experience Qualifications Five (5) years of
progressively responsible and directly related work experience .
Preferred Qualifications: - MBA or MHA prepared Solid understanding
of billing practices, reimbursements, finance, and business
operations Prior experience with overseeing contracting and
budgeting Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to
communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to
develop long-range business plans and strategies Ability to provide
leadership and influence others Ability to resolve conflicts and/or
negotiate with others to achieve positive results; establish and
maintain effective interpersonal relationships Knowledge of local,
state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of
functional responsibility Knowledge of strategic planning and
program design principles Knowledge of the principles and practices
of financial planning, forecasting and data analysis These
