Want to know more, check out our website https://careers.vmware.com/ at https://careers.vmware.com/%0d .Job Role and Responsibilities:The Social Media Specialist will be instrumental in helping VMware expand and scale the Modern Applications Platform Business unit (MAPBU) by nurturing and growing our global social media presence and managing the operations of our social media team.In this role, you will work independently and as a member of a team to drive brand awareness and affinity through social media for the MAPBU. You have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating autonomy in conforming to strategic intent while adhering to team values. Our team looks for individuals who embody our values of humility, empathy, collaboration above isolationism, respectfulness, trustworthiness, and good-natured fun.Responsibilities include: Working with our Head of Social Media to develop and execute a comprehensive, global, social media strategy Ensure alignment between online social media programs and off-line marketing activities, including PR, trade shows and events, advertising, and other marketing campaigns Maintain and grow social media content repositories and image libraries; closely align with MAPBU---s Design and Content teams to deliver engaging creative collateral Manage the day to day operations of the MAPBU social media team Pull analytics and assess data for one-off campaigns and initiatives for internal stakeholders Manage MAPBU---s social media channels - including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc., monitor social media conversations and activity Partner with our agency to create monthly analytic reports--Requirements: Bachelor---s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field Excellent communication (both written and verbal), critical thinking, and interpersonal skills Strong work ethic and enthusiasm about new challenges Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a global organization A desire to work, lead, and collaborate on a global team, taking cultural differences into consideration Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills Positive, professional, and driven ---can-do--- attitude with a passion to learn and grow Excellent written and verbal communication and research skills and curiosity Familiarity with social media and digital communications and the role they play in promoting brand awareness, engagement, and traffic Solid organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and handle high-volume detail work Motivated with a solid ability to work as part of a team; enthusiastic and flexible with the ability to work on your own Ability to quickly build rapport and collaborate with various teams on a daily basis Solid project management, reporting, and decision-making skills Willingness to contribute as part of a small, dynamic team Proactive and highly responsive Ability to pick up new tools and concepts quickly--Preferred Skills: Experience with enterprise social media tools, i.e. Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr etc Social media/community experience is a plus Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and/or equivalentThis job opportunity is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship by VMware.Category : MarketingSubcategory: MarketingExperience: New GraduateFull Time/ Part Time: Full TimeRemote: NoPosted Date: 2020-10-22VMware Company Overview: At VMware, we believe that software has the power to unlock new opportunities for people and our planet.
