Associate Dean, Executive Education, Stanford Law School Stanford Law School seeks to hire its inaugural Associate Dean for Executive Education, reporting directly to the Dean of Stanford Law School (SLS).This seasoned professional will create the vision and strategy for this focus area at SLS by analyzing important legal education opportunities to attract high level officials, leaders of industry, legal scholars, CEOs, executives to want to participate and attend conferences and programs on the Law and Corporate Governance; Technology; AI, Sustainability; Faculty Interests; etc.The Associate Dean will build the Law School's Executive Education program, expanding on current SLS offerings and creating new programs.In this role you will be responsible for determining the department's organizational chart for success in consultation with the Sr. Associate Dean for Administration and Finance. This position will act as facilitator and coordinator for all Executive Education programming at the Law School, and thus you will need to be influential in working with Center Executive Directors and Faculty Directors with the goal of building cohesion across SLS on the programming, goals, and execution of the program. You will conceptualize executive education programming for SLS by determining demand for subject matter and target audiences for every Executive Education curricular offering. Create a network of advisors and speaker portfolios, including outside practitioners to draw upon for niche programming. Advise the Dean regarding which programming will yield the best revenue results for SLS.Teach courses and direct research on topics including venture finance, corporate governance, corporate sustainability and social governance. CORE DUTIES

  • Direct staff and provide leadership to achieve goals and vision of the organization. Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, personal development for direct reports and accountable for the performance of employees.
  • May independently or in collaboration with human resources managers, direct faculty supervisors and managers in the interpretation and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and programs.
  • Independently initiate and create strategic plans for organization or program(s) managed. Make recommendations that may impact the unit's academic and research capabilities. Identify and resolve strategic issues of substantial significance that affect the overall functioning beyond the immediate unit, consult and advise senior leadership. Oversee allocation of all resources.
  • Manage the direction of internal academic and administrative policy development for programs and administrative operations.
  • Oversee and/or manage the finances across all sources for the annual budget cycle, including developing, monitoring, analyzing forecasting and reporting to ensure the financial success of the organization.
  • Advise senior management on programmatic and policy development. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience.JD required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: --- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory, planning and change management skills. --- Excellent planning and organizational skills. --- Excellent communication skills. Able to influence people, solve problems, troubleshoot, think creatively and resolve conflicts. --- Advanced financial expertise in accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting. --- Advanced expertise in grants and contract administration. --- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong knowledge of industry standards and/or regulatory requirements. --- Strong negotiation and effective interpersonal skills. --- Attention to detail and accuracy. --- Advanced expertise in business and management computer applications and databases. --- Subject matter expertise for area(s) of responsibility. --- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines. *The expected pay range for this position is $182,000 to $241,000 per annum.
