About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher to join our teams at a few of our Afterschool Kids' Clubs in Palo Alto. As the Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transitional kindergarten afterschool program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for our students. You will work closely with other teachers and staff to develop and implement lesson plans, manage student behavior, and communicate with parents and guardians. The Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher, will lead implementation of curriculum for the teaching team. Your leadership and guidance will be essential in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students.Minimum Qualifications:

• 12 ECE units including core units (Child Development: Curriculum; Child, Family & Community)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in an educational setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and supervise student behavior
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods
• Ability to obtain Child Development Master Teacher Permit within one year of hirePreferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Experience working in an after-school program or similar setting
  • Bilingual
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Experience with play-based learningResponsibilities:
    • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans for 4-5 year olds
    • Supervise and manage student behavior to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior
    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure program goals and objectives are met
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student attendance and progressSkills:Under general direction, the Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher will utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with parents and guardians, collaborate with other teachers and staff, and manage student behavior. Your knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods will be essential in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans. You are responsible for leading on-floor programming for children and assures on-going, age-appropriate activities and development of children and implementation by all staff. Additionally, your ability to maintain accurate records and documentation of student attendance and progress will ensure program goals and objectives are met. Your experience working with children in an educational setting will allow you to effectively supervise and manage student behavior, creating a safe and positive learning environment for our students. The Transitional Kindergarten Lead Teacher will have the ability to mentor teaching staff on all aspects of P-3 Alignment.Additional Requirements*:
      • Must be vaccinated for measles and pertussis; must obtain annual flu vaccine or provide a signed declination form; must be tested for TB upon hire.
