paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the
job. The Senior Virtualization Storage Engineer is responsible for
the day-to-day provisioning, installation/configuration, operation,
and maintenance of the virtual infrastructure focusing on the
VMware platform. Supports multi-vendor virtualization technologies,
storage and server hardware environments. The Senior
Virtualization-Storage Engineer is responsible for hands-on
engineering activities and serves as the technical lead for
resolving complex incidents and problems related to storage
systems. Responsible for implementation by leading project teams,
planning and coordination, testing and training user groups to
ensure the successful operation of a mission critical server and
storage architecture. Participates in on-call support of all
critical network functions. Leads the design of enterprise server
and storage environments, including enterprise physical and virtual
servers, and enterprise storage arrays. Essential Functions The

duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospitals
policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its
Code of Conduct. + Designs, implements, supports, and maintains
Virtual Storage Infrastructure. + Performs system administration of
the virtual infrastructure including VMware. + Serves as the
technical expert for resolving complex incidents and problems
related to Storage systems. Serves as a subject matter expert and
researches market for new trends and identifies new technology
products and enhancements. + Manages large projects effectively.
Assures smooth turnover of projects, right from initiation to
implementation and training, to support services within IS as well
as other user departments. + Provides analysis of Windows and
Storage environments, both physical and virtual, and perform
necessary actions to avoid deficiencies and interruptions of
service. + Provides Tier 2 support for the virtual infrastructure
by investigating and troubleshooting incidents and issues to
resolution and providing well documented status updates. + Provides
day to day support for the virtual infrastructure including new
system delivery, preventative maintenance, and proactive
availability. + Ensures performance and capacity monitoring and
reporting. + Develops solutions and processes for reliable and
stable data storage management, security, backup, restoration,
archiving and replication. Assists with the implementation of new
or additional storage technology to improve infrastructure service
locally and remotely. + Performs management of day to day
operations on VM & Storage environment. Performs administration and
day to day operation of EMC Isilon (scale out network-attached
storage platform). Creates and maintains storage allocation. +
Performs system administration of Compute Environment of HPE
(Hewlett Packard Enterprise) Rack/Blade servers. + Develops backup
and recovery procedures and participate in recovery testing and D/R
exercises + Builds a risk model to identify key performance risks
and manage/mitigate effectively. + Creates and updates standard
operating procedures. + Automates daily & operational tasks with
tools and processes. + Manages and ensures that ticket queues are
being properly addressed by Tier 1 team in the time outlined by
SLAs (Service Level Agreement). + Participates in establishing and
maintaining policies and procedures. + Participates in Change
Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management calls. +
Optimizes the stability and reliability of the technology's
performance. + Implements new and additional technologies that will
improve the infrastructure. + Reviews design specs and develops
plan for testing a product. Execute tests at the product level.
Leads system set-up and maintenance efforts. Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely
provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as
possession of any required licenses or certifications is
qualifying. Education: Bachelors degree in Information
Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering from an
accredited college or university, or a related field or equivalent
education and experience. Experience: Seven (7) years experience of
VMware and other hypervisor administration. Experience in managing
multiprotocol storage infrastructure. License/Certification: VMware
Certified Professional Certifications Knowledge, Skills, &
Abilities These are the observable and measurable attributes and
skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of
the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying
experience, education, or licensure/certification. + Knowledge HPE
server products including Rack mount and Blade infrastructure and
managing it thru HPE-One View or equivalent management tools. +
Excellent customer service skills. + Interpersonal skills to deal
effectively with all business contacts. + Able to effectively
communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. + Ability
to support multi-vendor virtualization technologies, Storage and
Server hardware environments. + Ability to work in a large scale,
fast paced, and cross-functional team environment. + Knowledge of
fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA,
firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system
calls), iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, firmware. Knowledge of
Hyper-V and Citrix is bonus. Physical Requirements and Working

the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges
may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge,
skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well
as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new
team members join at the minimum to mid salary range. Minimum to
Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $145,745.60 to $190,548.80 Equal
