Build and lead a high performing, diverse, and passionate CapEx program management team to build the most capital efficient factories that ever existed. The CapEx team leads and executes commercial sourcing, development, and industrialization of capital equipment at all Rivian's production facilities as well as all pilot, R&D, and lab facilities. Our mission is to accelerate Rivian's growing footprint, manufacturing capabilities, and pace towards profitability by building, managing, and scaling a global capital equipment supply chain.Responsibilities:Build and lead a high performing CapEx Program management team:Lead a team of Program managers to accomplish company goals in a fast paced, demanding, and dynamic environment.Identify, draw, and hire a diverse and complimentary pool of talented Program managers.Guide and support the professional development of your team as individuals and as a whole.Provide sufficient and frequent guidance and feedback to enable the team to deliver optimal results while maintaining sufficient space for each individual to lead his/her/their own space and express innovative ideas and individual personalitiesEnable scalability and advancement of the CapEx team:Build, select, and continuously develop tools to foster continuous efficiency improvements.Create and track performance against KPIs to enable company's goals and priorities.Partner with other Capex Leaders and team members to ensure maximum collaboration.Continuously build, influence, and validate long range plan and budget to inform Company's strategic direction.Build the most capital efficient factories that have ever existed:Support and lead the daily operations of capital equipment procurement process, working alongside CapEx purchasing team, manufacturing engineering team, technical program management team, legal and finance teamsLead new product introduction efforts within the manufacturing and capital equipment space: supply chain design, schedule, cost and quality management as well as driving issue resolution.Drive launch readiness with manufacturing engineering, technical program management and capex procurement teams.Drive make vs buy decisions by building business case and driving scenario analysisDevelop and optimize the CapEx procurement processes and proceduresDevelop tools and systems for Capex procurement team in collaboration with IT and other cross functional organizationsBuild budgets and capex spend projections for future factories based on historical data and should cost analysisReview, maintain and analyze a wide variety of program data to support business decisionsBuild KPI dashboards with the data engineering teams for all capital equipment projects and programs - project tracking, cost savings and avoidance, supplier selection matrix, make vs buy analysis, supplier performance criteria, budget tracking, cost roll up , project execution status, gap analysisAbility to work with cross functional teams and serve as a liaison between stakeholdersWork closely alongside CapEx purchasing managers to support reporting on build requirements, tracking sourcing progress and cost managementQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering10+ years of relevant work experience (automotive program management or industrial manufacturing environment preferred)Appreciation for the art of managing evolving project requirements in a fast-paced environmentHighly collaborative mindset, good interpersonal and communication skillsExhibit strong attention to detail and quality while effectively managing multiple projects/tasksHigh level of integrityAbility to work independently in a fast paced environmentLocation:Department: CapEx ProcurementLocation: Palo Alto, CAEqual OpportunityRivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
