**A Brief Overview** Reporting to the Administrative
Director/Clinical Director of Imaging Services, the Technical
Manager is responsible for the overall operational management of
their respective area(s) of responsibility. Primary duties include
designing, monitoring and managing assigned technical areas to
provide and promote high quality, efficient, cost effective
services in compliance with hospital, accrediting and regulatory
requirements. Also manages assigned staff and utilization of
resources within assigned areas to meet financial and productivity
standards, quality standards and strategic goals of the department
and hospital. In collaboration with the Administrative
Director/Clinical Director develops implements and maintains
policies, procedures and complex imaging equipment. Provides input
to the development of business plans, leads projects, member of
departmental committees, workgroups and PI teams. Identifies and
resolves technical and operational customer service requirements.
**Locations** Stanford Health Care **What you will do** + Manages
directly, and through supervisors, the effective delivery of
quality Radiology services for assigned technical areas; meeting
customer needs, department standards, policies and procedures,
community standards and regulatory agency requirements for assigned
areas within Radiology. + Develops, implements, monitors and
continuously improves technical, clinical policies and procedures
and instrumentation as required. Standardizes and consolidates
technical processes and efforts when appropriate. Develops and
maintains an effective and efficient system of information, records
and reports, utilizing manual and electronic systems. +
Collaborates with the Administrative Director/Clinical Director and
Business Manager to insure that annual operating budgets are
developed, implemented and monitored in order to meet the financial
goals of the organization, to meet or exceed budget targets and
that budget variances are resolved or justified. Assists in the
coordination and integration of capital budget requests and
purchases. Works with Director and Business Operations Director to
develop cost standards, updates charge master and cost accounting
data for assigned technical areas. + Advises Director and Business
Operations Director of all variances to schedule and budget.
Presents solutions to correct variances and communicates delays to
appropriate individuals. + Plans and manages the implementation and
maintenance of clinical equipment for the assigned technical areas.
Supports and collaborates with Director, physician leadership and
other managers to implement new services and programs. Evaluates
space and utility requirements needed to meet the needs of the
Radiology. + Develops, implements, monitors and continuously
improves quality programs for assigned technical areas. Promotes
continuous improvement in quality of Radiology services, service
delivery, customer satisfaction, and cost effectiveness through
coordination of quality and resource/risk management programs.
Develops systematic methods of measuring satisfaction and quality
of care. + Hires, evaluates the performance of and implements
corrective action, up to and including termination, for assigned
staff as necessary. Addresses individual staff performance problems
as needed; directs the design and implementation of corrective
action plan where performance is an issue. Assures staff competency
to handle technical responsibilities by developing competency
standards and measurement tools and assuring that staff is
appropriately licensed, certified, trained and reviewed. +
Represents Radiology administration to employee unions and
bargaining units if necessary; represents technical area to
hospital departments, physicians and outside clients and vendors as
assigned. **Education Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in
healthcare related field preferred. **Experience Qualifications** +
Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related
work experience. **Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** +
Knowledge of trends in health care. + Knowledge of principles and
practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel
management. + Knowledge of computer systems and software used in
functional area. + Ability to develop, implement and evaluate
methods, processes and systems to improve efficiency of department
operations. + Ability to plan and implement technical policies,
procedures and instrumentation. + Ability to communicate verbally
and in writing with hospital staff, physicians and the general
public. + Ability to organize work priorities and adjusting as
circumstances require. + Ability to develop and implement
improvement plans, and new processes. + Ability to develop
financial budgets and manage expenses. + Ability to manage,
organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
+ Ability to provide leadership and influence others. + Ability to
foster effective working relationships and build consensus. +
Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues.
**Licenses and Certifications** + ARRT-CT - Cert Arrt in CT or +
ARRT-MRI - Cert ARRT in MRI or + ARRT-N - Reg Tech Rad-Nuclear Med
Tech or + ARRT-RTR - Reg Tech-Radiography ARRT or + ARRT-RTT - Reg
Tech-Rad Therapy ARRT or + RDMS-OB - Registered Diagnostic Med
Sonographer-Ob or + RDMS-V - Registered Diagnostic Med
Sonographer-Vascular or + NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech **These
