We are an innovative, fast-paced wireless technology company backed by Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors, Boeing, SoftBank Group and DCM. We're based in Palo Alto, and our world-class team has built the world's first commercial direct-to-device satellite network to connect handheld devices, wearables and IoT devices anywhere. -
Skylo's unique service allows standard cellular devices to simply connect directly over both cellular and satellite networks seamlessly for data, messaging, SOS and other critical applications. We are bringing hybrid cellular - satellite connectivity to ordinary cellular devices today and are getting ready to deploy this capability through the major carriers and device makers globally.
Skylo is hiring a VP of Business Development to help fulfill Skylo's vision of cellular devices roaming seamlessly across satellites, so that you're never 'out of coverage' again. We are working through Mobile Network Operators and enabling the device maker ecosystem for this ground-breaking technology and service. -
The Skylo value chain comprises of our sales channels (primarily but not exclusively MNOs and MVNOs) and enablers comprising of device OEMs, module manufacturers and chipset vendors. Working closely with our product team this role is pivotal generating end customer demand through our channels and demonstrating this to our value chain creating business cases to enable the Skylo service.
We are looking for a hands-on experienced leader to play a foundational role finding MNO/MVNO partners to act as a channel for our service and drive customer demand. It will also require working collaboratively with our product team to show value in enabling the Skylo Service. We would expect the successful candidate to be able to build an extensive network spanning the value chain that allows us to generate profitable business and rapidly scale.

Key Outputs


  • Lead sales and sign up service providers in North America to Skylo Service.
  • Build end user demand with service providers and work with internal teams to demonstrate pipeline to our value chain to enable the service.
  • Build relationships with MNOs, MVNOs and OEM device makers (collectively, service providers) to enable satellite connectivity into existing product offerings.
  • Support the service providers selling the solution, working across entire ecosystem
  • Ensure partner service provider sales teams are properly targeted/ incentivised and trained to sell the Skylo Service
  • Maintain a clear view of service provider sales pipelines and product needs to close revenue
  • Drive priorities of Skylo Technical Sales to achieve goals with service providers

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years sales leadership experience across both direct and indirect sales in IoT/Cellular.
    • Must be hands on, entrepreneurial and able to translate business outcomes into executable plans.
    • Demonstrable ability to sell and drive revenue growth as both a leader and individual contributor.
    • Experience managing teams of technical sales support to ensure timely deployment
    • Highly collaborative approach, with excellent communication skills
