Expect The R&D EHS Associate Manager drives the development
andexecution of our overall EHS Management System for Research and
Development(R&D) site locations specific to Palo Alto, CA. This
role isresponsible for managing direct reports and overseeing
technical work in a widerange of EHS disciplines. The ideal
candidate has successful management systemimplementation experience
and a proven history of leading and developing healthand safety
leaders. The EHS AM works strategically with Engineering
(Design,Hardware, & Software) Lab managers, Office / Admin staff,
Facilities, Construction,Workplace, and health and safety team
members to ensure that we maintain a safework environment for our
employees. What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day EHS operations and strategy for Tesla's
TechnologyDevelopment organizations
- Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federalenvironmental,
health, and safety regulators
- Interface with regulatory agencies on complex
permitting,reporting and compliance-related issues
- Assist with the development, standardization, and
continuousimprovement of -laboratory facilities. -
- Oversee incident reporting and analysis processes and
theimplementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of
injuries
- Develop and execute tailored programs for experimental /
labwork such as LOTO, NFPA 70E, Hazard Communication, Emergency
Response, Unattendedtest, Waste Management, Recycling, Ergonomics,
Respiratory Protection, HearingConservation, etc.
- Coordinate with Global Shared Services teams
(IndustrialHygiene, Environmental Compliance, Ergonomics,
Construction, etc.)
- Provide education and training on health and safety goals
totechnicians, engineers, and leadership
- Analyze EHS data and reports trends; recommend and overseeplans
for corrective actions
- Complete monthly reports and maintain risk reduction plansfor
all sites
- Conduct Risk Assessments and establish JSA's / JHA's /
SWP's
- Operate as a change agent driving continuous improvementacross
the organization What You'll Bring
- 6-8 years of experience in a similar Lab, R&D,Technology
development environment
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial
Safety,Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related
discipline.
- Master's degree or certifications (CSP, CHMM, CPE, CIH)
arepreferred
- Strong understanding of and experience with
R&Doperations
- Advanced knowledge of CAL-OSHA policies
- Advanced knowledge of local, state and federal
regulatoryagencies and requirements
- Practical, hands-on experience with the following:
equipmentsafety, environmental compliance and permitting, waste
management, complianceinitiatives, process implementation, risk
assessment, root cause analysis
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with alllevels
of management
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressurewhile
managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of Human and Organizational PerformanceHOP

- Ability and willingness to respond to site emergencies 24hours
a day, 7 days a week, as needed -
- Availability to travel, -20% of the time.
- Oversee multiple sites, with the potential to take on moreand

Expected Compensation
$84,000 - $222,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards +
benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors,
including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and
experience. The total compensation package for this position may
also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
