CaliforniaJob Summary Under the direction of the Gronowski Center
Director, the supervisor provides ethical, multi-culturally
competent, compassionate, and up to date empirically validated
supervision and training for the Ph.D. and Psy.D. students. This
position prepares students to be professional, competent, ethical,
culturally sensitive, and skilled providers of psychotherapy.This
position requires a strong commitment to empirically supported
clinical practices, a strong knowledge of, an adherence to, the APA
ethics code, HIPAA, and State and Federal laws governing the
practice of psychotherapy.As a representative for Palo Alto
University (PAU), this position contributes to a high quality of
client service that attracts and retains academically qualified,
culturally diverse, and socially conscious populations of students.

(100% FTE with Benefits)
- Provides one hour of weekly direct individual supervision for
11-12 practicum students. Runs two, two-hour supervision groups per
week (five-six students in each group).
- Provides on-site* supervisory coverage 4-6 hours per week for
crisis/risk management. Also, provides 4-6 hours of back-up (by
phone) supervisory coverage each week.
- Provides crisis/risk on-site*coverage on Saturdays 10-2pm, two
Saturdays each quarter.
- Reviews supervisees' clinical documentation in a timely manner
and provides timely feedback.
- Participates in bi-weekly administrative consultation meetings
with Director and Assoc. Director
- Participates in monthly all-supervisor meetings
- Completes a written evaluation for each of your student
supervisees at the end of each quarter. Reviews the evaluation with
each supervisee (in-person). Creates a remediation plan for
students who are not meeting the clinical competencies (when
needed), and submits to Clinic Director.
- Teaches 2-3 didactic trainings for student therapists each
quarter.
- Reviews phone intakes one day a week.
- Attends/facilitates intake case presentations from 12noon -1pm
one day a week.
- Assists Directors in the orientation and training of incoming
students.
- Assists Directors with oversight of the student clinic manager
team
- Assists Directors with managing various administrative tasks
such as:
- Managing the clinic's remote file/document system (Box)
- Auditing the clinic's EMR system and overseeing that medical
records are up-to-date and accurate
- Creating the on-call risk schedules
- Creating and overseeing the Practicum Forum/Didactic
calendar
- Works closely with the Director and Assistant Director to
develop and maintain a culture of high quality, evidence-based
supervision and training at the clinic.*Clinical services and
supervision are currently being conducted remotely over ZOOM. It is
anticipated that services and supervision will return to in-person
in Fall 2022. Essential Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in clinical psychology (PhD or PsyD)
- An active California Clinical Psychologist License
- Experience with clinical training and supervision
- A strong understanding of the APA ethics code, laws and legal
mandates that apply to mental health professionals.
- The ability to teach/train supervisees in a developmentally
appropriate way (i.e., sequenced clinical learning.)
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality, collegial and
diplomatic behavior at work, and work performance to the
satisfaction of management, and essential functions of the
position.Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in clinical psychology (PhD or PsyD)
- An active California Clinical Psychologist License
- At least two years of clinical training and supervision
experience
- A strong understanding of the APA ethics code, laws and legal
mandates that apply to mental health professionals.
- The ability to teach/train supervisees in a developmentally
appropriate way (i.e., sequenced clinical learning.)
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
