Adecco Medical & Science is assisting a top client in the healthcare industry in recruiting for an Orthopedic Cast Technician in the Redwood City, San Jose and Palo Alto, CA, areas at their Pediatric Orthopedic clinic. This position is a full-time contract opportunity, lasting 3-6 months, with the possibility to be extended or converted.The Orthopedic Technician is accountable to and evaluated by the Patient Care Manager (or designee) for the Surgical or Orthopedic Unit, in collaboration with appropriate nursing personnel. Support their respective clinical area as it relates to orthopedic procedures, treatment and care. -Essential FunctionsThe essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.* Acts as a consultant on orthopedic procedures and policies.* As necessary, accurately sets up traction and maintains traction beds.* Carries out all responsibilities in a pleasant, courteous and cooperative manner.* Conducts all communication (verbal and written) in an effective, accurate, courteous manner.* Contributes in a positive manner to the unit, department and hospital goals.* Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds.* Effectively maintains and manages their respective clinical area and performs required duties on a daily basis.* Establishes and facilitates appropriate working relationships between the orthopedic area and work areas of the Hospital (nursing units, ED, OR, Clinic).* Follows unit and departmental guidelines related to staffing and scheduling.* Initiates problem-solving techniques on a timely basis.* Maintains adequate inventory of materials and equipment -Minimum Qualifications* Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.* Experience: Six (6) months of orthopedic experience or successful completion of education/training in casting.* License/Certification: BLS - Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. -Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities* Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.* Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.* Ability to solve problems and identify solutions.* Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.* Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.* Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.Pay Range: $25-$30hr BOESchedule: M-F 8:30am -5:00pmWhy work for Adecco? ---- - - -Weekly pay--- - - -401(k) Plan--- - - -Skills Training--- - - -Excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits.Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
