Job Description:
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified Cath Lab RN in Santa Cruz, California, 95065! Pay
Information $2,765 per week About The Position Job Title: Cardiac
Cath Lab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty:
Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour days Hours per
Shift: 32 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License:
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Conscious
sedation testing Description: Unit consists of 2 suites with 4-14
cases per day. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS for nurses;
additional certifications for technicians include CVT, RT, and
California Fluoroscopy. Patient ratios are 1 to 1. Technicians will
scrub and perform hemodynamic monitoring; nurses will focus on
sedation monitoring. Charge Nurse position available; no patient
assignments for the Charge Nurse. Nurse aides are not utilized;
cath lab technicians assist with scrubbing and hemodynamic
monitoring. Weekend call is required twice a month. Holiday shifts
will rotate with permanent staff. Scrub colors are provided. There
is no telemedicine involved and ventilators are not applicable. A
cardiologist is present in-house for hospitalist or intensivist
duties. Nurses will initiate their own IVs. Respiratory Therapy is
available 24/7. Pharmacy services are also available 24/7. Shifts
are during business hours with additional call coverage as needed.
Floating to other departments is not required. Floor-specific
orientation will vary based on experience level for nurses or
technicians. Common diagnoses and types of patients include STEMI,
TAVR, interventional and diagnostic catheterizations, TAVR, EVAR,
and cardiac assessments. No interventional radiology cases are
handled. Technicians are responsible for scrubbing and hemodynamic
monitoring, while nurses will perform sedation monitoring. RNs must
undergo conscious sedation testing as part of the standard
protocol. The cancellation policy allows for the potential
cancellation of shifts. Charting system utilized is Cerner. A BSN
is not required for this position. This is an acute care setting
