Job Description:
Vituity, a leader in healthcare management services, is seeking
a highly skilled and compassionate Organ Recovery Surgeon to join
our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will work closely
with our departments of emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and
critical care to ensure the highest standards of care in organ
transplantation procedures. Your expertise will directly contribute
to saving lives and improving patient outcomes across the
facilities we manage. This position involves rigorous assessment,
precise surgical recovery of organs, and coordination with
transplant teams to optimize the use of donated organs. Perform
surgical procedures to recover organs for transplantation adhering
to all national safety and medical guidelines. Evaluate donor
condition and suitability for organ recovery in collaboration with
attending physicians and medical teams. Ensure proper handling and
transportation of recovered organs to maintain viability for
transplant. Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
to discuss patient treatment plans and improvements in organ
recovery processes. Educate medical staff on best practices and
advancements in organ recovery techniques. Maintain meticulous
records of all surgeries, including specifics of the donor and
recovery circumstances. Expertise in surgical techniques and
aseptic management. Strong ability to assess organ viability
quickly and accurately. Excellent coordination and communication
skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in using medical software for patient and donor record
keeping. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Board certified in general surgery or a related
field. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
Completion of a fellowship in transplant surgery is highly
desirable.
