Search Jobs Job Description SW Manager, Core Blockchain Engineering PURPOSE:--- Exciting opportunity as our SW Manager, Core Blockchain team. You will be leading---a SW development team in VMware's---Core Blockchain---Engineering team. We are expanding our core blockchain platform using---innovative technology, enterprise---grade---quality, building---cutting-edge software.------ The Blockchain platform is a highly scaled distributed storage system, with core resiliency, security, and immutability of the data to withstand failures or malicious attacks. This is a "built from the ground up" SW platform to enable the next generation of Blockchain applications at scale - from research to prototype to enterprise grade products. You will be part of a talented and supportive team from across the world as well as members of the academic community and VMware's Research Group in this role. Our team values diversity, collaboration, and open thought while supporting VMware's EPIC2 values.--------- Are you ready for your next great challenge with the Blockchain Engineering team in VMware?------ Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of highly talented engineers with direct responsibility to deliver complex features for Blockchain Core Platform Understanding the technical domain and being able to provide architectural and technical guidance, facilitates collaboration and communication within and between teams across the organization Lead the team to deliver releases on time and with good quality Lead complex technical design discussions across various stakeholders. Aligns team activities to program and business objectives Continuously works with team to ensure effective processes, prioritization and timely scoping Hire, retain, and motivate a diverse team of hardworking, critical thinking, and productive engineers Drive continuous innovation, making decisions based off data, and collaborating with partners, peers and team. Requirements 3+ years management experience leading and managing software development teams 10+ years of relevant software engineering development experience, in large scaled distributed systems with enterprise-grade capability - Distributed Systems - Database and Large-scale Storage Systems - Big Data Processing Systems - Operating Systems - Performance Analysis and Optimization - Cryptography - Blockchains Practical knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and product development practices in a complex distributed system. Experience with distributed systems and tradeoffs of large-scale systems Experience in security/cryptography - advantage Hands on system and software architecture, design acumen. This is a very hands on technical role. Engineering experience in C++ or other equivalent programing domain Excellent people management skills - communication, teamwork, and leadership Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
