Come join us to reimagine the human journey.Meet The TeamThe perception team works with various sensors to measure the environment and brings all of this information together to model the real world. It is fundamental for avoiding obstacles, predicting actor behavior, and planning the motion of the vehicle itself. Perception metrics are used to evaluate the design and development of the perception system. The metrics provide critical feedback for improving the perception system. The ability to understand the performance of the software stack is essential for the success of the autonomous vehicle program.What You'll Do

• Work with various perception teams such as lidar, radar, camera, ML, sensor fusion, etc., to define the expected perception performance
• Work with log and labeling teams to define ground truth reference
• Design metrics architectures and algorithms to quantify the performance against those expectations
• Implement the metrics in C++, Python, and SQL, both onboard the AV and offline
• Aggregate, visualize, and disseminate the metrics by building dashboards
• Work with various perception teams to enforce expectations on the AV's behavior via pre- and post-merge regression testingWhat You'll Need To Succeed
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Ability to understand various perception concepts, i.e. object detection, object representation, and object dynamics evaluation, as well as machine learning and sensor fusion. However, you are not required to be an expert in those domains
  • 2+ years C++ experience
  • 2+ years Python experience
  • Strong technical communication skills
  • Ability to design and deliver production quality software independently while incorporating advice given from reviewNice To Haves
    • Masters or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
    • Experience with machine learning at scale
    • Experience working with SQL and Business Intelligence tools like Looker, Qlik, or Tableau
    • C++ experience
    • Robotics experience
