As a member of the Embedded Platform software team, you will help design, implement, and integrate the real-time system platforms that drive our autonomous vehicles and make a large impact on the future of Level 5's autonomous efforts.Responsibilities:

  • Work with the extended team to design, implement, and integrate critical real-time embedded system platforms for autonomous vehicles
  • Be excited about working on software closely connected to operating systems, compute hardware, sensors, and vehicles
  • Deliver high-quality C and C++ code and related tooling with safety in mind
  • Collaborate with hardware, middleware, systems, and autonomy teams
  • Participate in hands-on system integration, system debugging, hardware bring-up, and code optimization
  • Participate in hardware and software systems design reviews
  • Be a team player on everything from developing infrastructure to doing code reviewsEducation and Experience
    • BSCS or equivalent technical degree required
    • 3+ years of embedded SW experience, or relevant experience from course work and internships for new grads
    • 3+ years of embedded SW experience, or relevant experience from course work and internships for new grads
    • Extensive programming experience in C and C++ (modern C++ preferred)
    • Knowledge of relevant tooling (scripting, cross-compilers, build systems)
    • Background in object oriented design, prioritizing testability and reusability
    • Knowledge of POSIX operating systems (Linux, QNX, etc.)
    • Knowledge of embedded programming platforms and their interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, I2C, etc.)
    • Helpful:
    • Understanding of real-time OS architecture and designs (FreeRTOS, etc.)
    • Experience with sensor integration (cameras, radars, etc.)
    • Automotive background (Autosar AP, ECU development, etc.)
    • Experience with developing safety-certified SW (ISO 26262 and similar)
