Job Description:
Lab Summary: At the XR UX Lab, we are envisioning the future of
XR experiences in the context of immersive and intelligent
environments. We are a mix of interdisciplinary individuals with
expertise in advanced rapid prototyping and AI-first XR user
experience design. The XR UX Lab will work closely with the
corporate mobile division’s UX team and external partners to
investigate emerging XR UX technologies and deliver design
artifacts that determine the direction of the upcoming XR products
at Samsung Electronics. Position Summary: We are looking for a XR
UX Designer/Motion Designer/Prototyper who will be responsible for
being the ultimate creative facilitator, working collaboratively
with a cross-disciplinary team to help users achieve their goals
and fuse business insights with users' needs to craft great user
experience. You will combine the expertise of a technical designer
with the human centered of an experience designer. You will bring
your unique perspective to transform the R&D technology to user
centric product idea. Position Responsibilities: Contribute to
product strategy discussion and develop concepts aligned with
product goals and strategy. Develop high-level creative concepts
for projects; help to refine and further develop these concepts
into complete, functional design systems. Articulate design
thinking with strong rationale, based on market trends and usage
data. Rapidly prototype concepts to demonstrate your design.
Demonstrate and communicate clear expectations for quality of work,
productivity, communication, and professionalism with team. Work
with designers, developers, and PMs to define and meet key
milestones as well as create task lists and work estimates. Create
and present design solutions and strategies that bring the user
story to life for a wide audience, including cross functional
teams. Required Skills: Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD
program in a design discipline, human-computer interaction, games,
or computer science. 1 years working on XR projects or products,
either in school or industry. 2 years of designing experience using
Adobe CS and/or Figma. Able to work with designers, engineers,
researchers, and product managers. Able to navigate ambiguous,
shifting requirements in a fast-paced environment. Able to
communicate ideas visually (user flows and/or storyboards) with
your colleagues and revise outcomes based on constructive feedback.
Able to show at least one relevant project that has well developed
visuals, interactions, product direction, or all three. Comfortable
at taking design ownership based on project needs. Ability to
develop design independently with guidance from project
peers/mentors. Special Attributes: Deep experience with at least
one AR/VR headset, especially if you’ve designed and built for
them. Familiarity with a 3D modeling tool (e.g. Blender, Maya,
etc.). 2 years prototyping or programming experience in Unity.
Experience working with a framework such as MRTK, XRI, OpenXR,
Oculus. Familiarity with user testing in AR or VR. Our total

talent. The hourly pay rate range for roles at this level is listed
below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic
differentials in the labor market. Within the hourly pay rate
range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the
role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge,
skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our
comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility
and generous benefits to help you live life well. Hourly Pay Rate
