Chief Development Architect - Low Code Application Development PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES SAP Cloud Platform is the integration and extension platform for SAP, with a rich set of business services. The application development organization is responsible for providing low code development tools for application development, business services, workflow and process automation. The result is the ability to rapidly build new applications that have a high impact on business processes. The delivery of integrated business processes is a top priority for SAP. Customers want to easily discover SAP's business processes, configure them, extend them to their own needs, and run and continuously optimize them. We term this process dexterity as "live processes," which allows enterprises to discover business process in SAP Our business process management portfolio enables the management of such "live processes" in the Intelligent Enterprise with services such as SAP Cloud Platform Workflow and SAP Cloud Platform Business Rules. Using SAP Cloud Platform Workflow, customers can orchestrate their business processes, covering application-embedded workflows, orchestration workflows across systems, and process extension workflows. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS In the role as CDA for the SAP Cloud Platform Low Code Application Development you are responsible to define an aligned and consistent architecture strategy and/or target architecture of product line, product family, or a specific cross-product architecture subjects (e.g. user interface strategy, platform strategy) and the adoption of that strategy by the CP organization. In addition, you evaluate architecture risks and estimate effort for business cases, prepare the SAP CP leadership decisions on these topics, advices the leadership team and chief product owners. Translates business strategy into technical and architecture strategy taking market and technical trends into consideration.

• Define and align the architectural strategy and road map with product management and other in- and external stakeholder.
• Come up with architecture blueprints and development best practices for major cross functional initiatives across the application development, process automation and extension services business units
• Define and drive technology Proof of Concepts (PoCs) where needed
• Make architectural decisions transparent and pursuable
• Provides feedback to senior management regarding technical feasibility and architectural implications of business and product strategy.
• Organizes collaborative architecture work across organizations to align architecture of product lines and product families.
• Supports and advices chief product owner/senior management regarding technical and architectural feasibility, implications, readiness, and compliance
• Drives collaboration with involved architects of product and implementation teams and is accountable for implementing architecture strategy/target architecture within product lines and product families. Being a role model for architects (thought leadership, living SAP values, promoting SAP strategy) EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • University degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in delivering cloud platform services for development of large scale enterprise applications (ERP, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, HR etc)
  • Deep understanding of Application development, Process automation, Workflow and Integration products and how they are used in the context of SaaS applications
  • Experience in building NoCode/LowCode development tools for automation and application extensions
  • Strong interest and knowledge in current technology trends and innovations, esp. Cloud technologies like e.g. microservices, container, APIs
  • Proven track record of successfully interacting with other teams from other units/board areas, and working with people with different backgrounds such as field, industries development, and product management
  • Good communications skills and the ability to communicate clearly with peers, customers and Executive Mgmt.
  • Experience working with customers, partners to drive solution best practices and successful deployment of enterprise applications WORK EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in an Enterprise Software Company, thereof min of 5-8 years as a Development Architect SAP'S DIVERSITY COMMITMENT
