If you want to be part of this important mission, we want to hear from you.We are looking for junior applied physicist with Hardware Engineering background to join our radiation physics team in Beam Generation and Monitoring (BGM). The successful candidate needs to be able to design and build test plans under the supervision of a more experienced physicist, debug and execute tests to monitor the long-term performance of the RF system components, and experimental data collection and analysis. The candidate should have excellent team-work ability, good oral/written communication skills and ability to manage project timelines and supplier collaborations in a fast-paced environment. General knowledge in one or more of the following categories is a plus: microwave and accelerator physics, vacuum technology, high-power klystron amplifiers, pulsed high-power supplies, and pulsed beam generation components used in radiation therapy applications.What you will do:Laboratory work to design test beds to test, monitor and characterize the performance of high-power RF system components, and perform electro-magnetic interference (EMI) noise investigation and noise reduction workRadiation physics experimental work on prototype systems (radiation training will be provided), EMI measurements, RF system data collection and trouble-shooting, accelerated life testing data monitoring and analyticsMaintain documentation of system performance and stability, failure events and proposed solutions, and reliability testing results Perform and document informal and formal verification and validation tests for the BGM subsystem What you will have:Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar. An experienced technician will also be considered.Hands-on laboratory skills, component and subsystem troubleshooting experienceHighly motivated, ability to work independently, and take initiativeGood problem solving and critical thinking skills; great oral/written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with experts in multiple disciplinesWhat will set you apart:Experience with high-power pulsed beam components, electronics, and vacuum technologyExperience with electronic test equipmentExperience with National Instruments components/LabView coding and/or data acquisition practices is a plusExperience with python or scripting is a plusFighting cancer calls for big ideas.We envision a world without fear of cancer.
