Job Summary You will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs to lead the design and launch of a Patient Advocacy strategy for the Medical Affairs team for the Autism Spectrum Disorder portfolio. The Medical Affairs team is being built ahead of Cognoas first commercial launch for a Diagnostic Aid Medical Device, and will expand to support other portfolio needs over time.The Patient Advocacy Lead will act as a credible partner between Cognoa and the Autism and Childhood Development advocacy community, guiding the development of mutually beneficial partnership opportunities and projects. Partnership opportunities may include those centered on awareness of disorder and Cognoa, education, research, and supporting resources to advance patient care. The lead ensures the voice of the patients and caregivers integrated with Cognoas plans as early as initial product development throughout late stage commercialization. The role has potential growth to expand support across a larger portfolio and management of team over time.Responsibilities Identify, assess, and map Patient Advocacy groups in alignment with the needs of the Autism Diagnostic Aid Medical Device. Develop engagement plans to guide reach out and partnership development with Patient Advocacy groups. Work with leaders across Cognoa functions to ensure the Patient Advocacy strategy and tactics are aligned with enterprise needs. Engage Patient Advocacy group leaders to define mutually beneficial partnership opportunities and projects. Work to support the end to end execution of opportunities and projects. Serve as a central conduit for the voice of the patients and caregivers, integrate insights and share appropriately with Cognoa to align corporate efforts with the needs of the community. Guide planning for Patient Advocacy centric Ad Boards, focus groups, research, and education events.Qualifications Doctorate (PhD or MD) required. A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience working in a Medical Devices organization in medical affairs; experience with advocacy or professional societies preferred. 10+ years related experience, with a minimum of 7 years working with external customers, advocacy groups, and / or professional societies. Prior product launch experience 2-years of experience in Pediatrics, with a focus on behavioral disorders such as Autism. 4-years of experience in leading and managing teams. Excellent and demonstrated interpersonal skills: ability to understand and respond to multiple external and internal customers' demands, manage and handle conflict constructively required. Ability to problem-solve and network throughout the organization to identify solutions.
