Well known and regarded non-profit behavioral health agency is
hiring a Director of Residential to oversee three residential
programs in the Palo Alto area. Each residential program has a
Program Director that reports in to this role. The total bed count
is about 30 and all programs are for adults referred by the County
or health plans for services. The average length of stay is 90 days
to 6 months. The DRS is a member of the regional leadership team
and is responsible for the development and implementation of
policies and programs that will contribute to overall success. The
DRS acts as a liaison with government agencies, the community and
the public relative to funding, contracts and delivery of
services.This is a wonderful opportunity for a strong leader with
residential experience to manage multiple sites.

Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the
work to meet departmental
productivity and quality goals. Continually look for ways to
improve programs and services and devises
and implements quality improvement plans.
Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of processes and
procedures to enhance speed, quality,
efficiency, and output. Meet and exceed service, program,
contractual, funder and agency assigned
objectives and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies
and procedures of the State
departments of social service and mental health, Community Care
Licensing, the County of San Mateo
Mental Health Department, the Commission on the Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to
carry out the functions of the
department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary
or requested, to track strategic
Communicate regularly with other managers, directors, CEO and other
designated contacts within the
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a
departmentally related field. Masters
degree and CA BBS registered / licensed candidates strongly
A minimum of three years of responsible leadership experience in
management or supervisory
Strong operational experience: ideally has worked in a management
role for 5+ years in a for profit or
nonprofit organization with progressive experience
Skills should include organizational development, personnel
management, budget and resource
development, and strategic planning; demonstrated success
developing and monitoring systems to
manage both operational and programmatic work that involve high
levels of collaboration.
Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal
skills; Ability to collaborate
with others in a team setting; experienced leadership with a
demonstrated ability to manage in a
rapidly growing, dynamic and changing environment.
Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous,
fast-moving environment, while also
driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness
in setting priorities and guiding
investment in people and systems.
Ability to produce, disseminate, explain and implement
organizational-wide policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, a professional
demeanor and to represent the
organization in a positive manner at all times.
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee
coaching and development skills.
Management experience in a team-oriented workplace, preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and
department staff members.
