Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in management consulting, technology-focused corporate strategy function, corporate development, venture capital, private equity or investment banking in the technology industry

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in or with high-growth tech startups
  • 8 years of experience including experience in a mixture of: corporate development, business development, investment banking, consulting or private equity, established technology companies, and startups
  • Experience working with legal agreements, collaborating with attorneys on agreement language, and managing complex facilitations
  • Demonstrated strategic positioning and analytical capabilities, with the ability to develop company materials, presentations, financial models, and diligence materials
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with executives

Gradient Ventures is a venture fund investing in promising, early-stage startups, providing innovative founders with funding, resources, and dedicated access to excellent people and practices in AI. The fund focuses on helping founders navigate technical challenges in developing products as well as building and scaling a go-to-market for those products.

As a Business & Corporate Development Manager on the Gradient Ventures team, you focus on growing Gradient Ventures' business and strategic partnerships with large enterprises and other companies. You will represent Gradient Ventures and its portfolio in meetings with technology and business leaders, and cultivate relationships with key partners based on a deep understanding of Gradient Ventures portfolio companies. You will also advise portfolio companies on how to best position partnership opportunities or acquisition opportunities to these large enterprises. When a portfolio company determines to seek acquisition or strategic investment opportunities, you will advise them on this process, make introductions to acquirers, and help the company to prepare diligence information as well as facilitate agreement terms.


  • Initiate conversations for and connecting relevant portfolio companies to potential acquirers and strategic partners and lead discussion of opportunities
  • Advise portfolio companies on how to position their product and company for acquisition or strategic partnership
  • Provide expertise and coaching to portfolio companies on running partnership and acquisition processes, preparing pitch and diligence materials, and discussing agreement terms
  • Develop insights from relationships and enterprise engagement to help inform Investment team's theses and agreement pipeline
  • Build a network of key constituencies at large enterprises that could be relevant to Gradient's portfolio companies, based on a close understanding of portfolio company strategies, products, and technology
