Job SummaryThis paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.The Associate Studio Coordinator supports the broadcasting studio with daily tasks including encouraging and facilitating participation from patients and families in all media programs, editing content, communicating with families about upcoming events, and supporting staff with general technology support.Essential FunctionsThe essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.Employees must abide by all Joint Commission Requirements including but not limited to sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patient rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospitals policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.Supports the broadcast studio team on the production of video content.Demonstrates proficiency in production television and radio equipment, software, and best practices, including but not limited to lighting, cameras and audio set-up; maintain all equipment in the studio.Supports media production, including on air host/ hosting shows, conducting guest interviews, editing show content.Facilitates patient and family participation in media programs, coordinates staff hosting schedules, develops resources to inform patients, families and staff about programming and participating options and manage media and events calendar.Serves as a point of contact when the Studio Coordinator is not present.Identifies areas for patient education and interactivity.Troubleshoots audio/video problems within broadcasting studio as well as with the STEAM gaming systems at the bedside.Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experienceLicense/Certification: None required.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesThese are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.Working knowledge of radio and television broadcasting equipment and software, including, but not limited to: Macintosh/Windows computer equipment, video mixer/switchers, audio recording equipment, and video equipment. Ability to complete all responsibilities and tasks assigned in an independent, efficient and organized manner.Strong oral and written communication skills with broadcasting range of individuals including children, families the general public and professionals. Pediatric hospital experience preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects/programs.Ability to adapt programs, equipment and materials to meet the needs of children and families. Ability to work collaboratively and in a positive manner with others.Ability to train and support others.Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
