Maxar is currently seeking a Technical Product Manager for Autonomous Navigation to join our team in Herndon, VA. We are also open to remote locations.

Your Focus: In this role, youwill help develop a strategy from the ground up for a new product portfolio at Maxar. Building on the foundation of Maxar's unique industry-leading capabilities for global geospatial data collection, 3D image processing, and advanced AI/ML/CV algorithm development, you will assess opportunities for Maxar technologies to make global impacts across the autonomous navigation markets. You will develop roadmaps, direct IR&D investments, identify partners with requisite technology, develop specifications and development plans necessary to build and launch new product offerings. You may also be acting as a hybrid product/project manager, crafting a vision directly with customers and leading a team of engineers to transform that vision into a tangible new product. In parallel, you will collaborate with both external and internal partners, communicate plans clearly to all parties, and lead teams towards success.

Success in this position also hinges on systems/engineering experience, or the ability to learn technical concepts quickly. Digging into the details to understanding system dependencies, technical risks and the impact of key architectural decisions with the engineering team is a must. You will be expected to utilize your technical capability in conjunction with your program/project management skills to deliver the best outcome for Maxar and our customers.

Who you will workwith: You will work directly with a small, focused group of product managers focused specifically on new and emerging products within the Earth Intelligence group at Maxar. You will work closely with our Business Development, R&D and Product Engineering teams based in the US and Europe.

Responsibilities:

* Conduct research to identify customer needs and market gaps influencing our business and our customers

* Allocate IR&D resources to mature necessary technologies to the point where they are insertion ready

* Manage the corresponding IR&D portfolio's projects

* Through business pipeline awareness, drive a roadmap to have the greatest chance of capturing profitable business

* Through communicating the product definition and roadmap, enable the capture teams to shape opportunities to better fit within what we can deliver profitably and repeatably

* Maintain the roadmap, ensuring priorities are aligned with program corporate goals and engineering time is allocated as effectively as possible

* Collaborate cross-functionally to organize stakeholders, manage dependencies, communicate status, and execute as efficiently as possible

Minimum Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

* Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, image processing/AI or relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

* Minimum of 12 years of experience in project, program or product management

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in related field

* Exceptional communication skills. Influence, collaborate, and deliver solutions in a highly-complex, always-changing environment

* Passionate for autonomous systems and their potential impact on the world

* Comfortable with working in limited resource environments

* Experience with programs where software and hardware interact

* Experience executing projects involving computer vision or machine learning

* Experience working directly with customers in the commercial autonomy industry

* Experience driving the continuous/ongoing performance evaluation of highly-complex systems

* Ability to work independently with a high degree of organization and attention-to-detail
