vSphere ESXi is the industry-leading and most deployed
bare-metal hypervisor platform in the world. From deployment
perspective, ESXi is mostly deployed in the on-premise environment.
In recent years, we have seen a proliferation of multi-cloud
architecture and deployments. VMware provides a single platform for
running and managing applications in multi-cloud environment. This
platform requires supporting and managing deployments of ESXi in
various cloud environments. This demand has driven the need for
shorter release cycles, real-time monitoring of cloud operations
and ability to diagnose and resolve issues at cloud speed. In
absence of these key components, the customer workloads and service
level agreements are impacted. We have been on a journey to
transform our development environment, monitoring and
serviceability to be the right compute platform that the SRE
engineers can support. We are seeking a leader to set the strategy
and direction for this team.
This will involve managing a team of engineers responsible for
designing, developing, and delivering high-quality solutions which
enhance monitoring, serviceability, availability, and workload
management, that are essential components to operate a leading
infrastructure platform. You will partner with various
organizations to establish a culture of excellence in execution.
You will also have a profound impact on how developer's get their
job done by improving and accelerating the product delivery through
advanced build systems, code instrumentation, test automation,
metrics collection and reporting.

- Manage organization to support 24/7 on-call shifts by
responding to incidents and by partnering with the SRE organization
to drive service objectives.
- Build monitoring services and service response using key
service metrics, logs, and alerts. Create and present necessary
reports and dashboards.
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in building & managing enterprise
- 6+ years of experience in managing global teams.
- Passion for operations, quality and engineering productivity
and drive operational excellence in these areas.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with people management, building teams, including
hiring and managing performance.
- Experience in SaaS operations and cloud engineering.
