Job Role and Responsibilities

Director Global Cloud Sales Program & Execution is a global role reporting directly to the VP of Global Cloud Sales Acceleration, Strategy & Operations. This individual will be critical in driving execution of strategic initiatives in a complex cross matrixed environment to accelerate our $1B multi-cloud business globally. This is a critical and strategic role with high visibility within VMware, reporting directly to the VP of Cloud Strategy and Planning one, which will develop over time, based on the current/future needs of the evolving VMware cloud model.

This individual will balance a mix of strategy, planning, and execution responsibilities in support of the business. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business acumen, sales operations experience, cloud solution knowledge, big-picture thinking, influencing skills and ability to collaborate with a large number of constituents within VMware. The individual will manage a team of 10+ associates directly and drive execution indirectly across dozens of functional stakeholders through persuasive, diplomatic, and strong communication skills. This role requires sales experience, a strong understanding of the field organization, as well as proven leadership experience, executive presence, and outstanding cross-group collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Global Cloud Sales transformational strategy realization and manage cross functional execution amongst key stakeholders to achieve organizational priorities and maximize revenue
  • Streamline go to market execution, and project management of critical initiatives in partnership with extended leadership teams
  • Manage critical initiatives to successful execution across the organization and all supporting functions
  • Act as Global Cloud Sales liaison and field requests from GEO GM's, Segments, BU's, RTM Leaders and Operations / Finance teams, mitigate disputes, and help prioritize initiatives and programs based on business impact
  • Develop strategy to integrate global cloud sales into every critical business process while driving enhancements to improve ease of doing business and customer experience
  • Analyze business to identify key metrics and opportunities for effective execution by the Global Cloud Sales organization; drive associated initiatives to improve performance and exceed business objectives

Required Strengths & Skillsets

  • Fierce collaborator with experience across complex software or SaaS organizations
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executive's
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across all departments within VMware through influence by leveraging extensive interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Holds people accountable for achieving their goals
  • Leads by example, creating a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work
  • Self-Starter with ability to balance a variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others
  • Possesses deep analytical skills and is able to process information quickly and make decisions in a timely manner
  • Experience working with executives to accomplish organizational priorities and guide VP's and various leadership teams through alternative decisions.
  • Strong sense of self and can relate well to works; learns quickly and can adapt to changes in timeframes, people and situations with ease; remains calm under pressure
