Senior Member of Technical Staff (Cloud Management Unit)

Job Description Business Summary: Cloud Management VMware's Cloud Management Business Unit is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing team's SRE endeavors. Cloud Management Business Unit is a catalyst to VMware's portfolio of cloud services. This transformation to cloud is turning out to be an exciting journey and we are looking to build a solid SRE team with focus on various production engineering aspects like CICD, SRE, Monitoring etc. SRE team will be responsible for taking SaaS service to production from inception, while providing actionable insights in to these services running on AWS cloud.

Job Role and Responsibility: Be part of the team to transform billion-dollar revenue generating CMBU products in to SaaS offering in AWS. This is an outstanding opportunity for you to participate and lead the creation of our next generation products using innovative technologies for a large application domain, working in cross-team and cross-geo environment.

You must be comfortable leading the SRE work end to end, set and manage expectations with stakeholders in both small and large group settings, engaging with customers, partners, internal teams and feel passionate about playing a role of dependable go getter SRE engineer in building a best of class Cloud Platform for our next-generation services.

Required Skills: 5 or more years of experience in the fields of SRE, DevOps or production engineering Experience in leading SRE and DevOps work initiatives from inception to production Lead development efforts of platform services, tools, and frameworks Independently work with the development teams on designing highly reliable, available, and distributed services Lad and mentor other engineers in the team for SRE best practices Experience with one or more object-oriented programming skills, i.e. Java, Python, Golang Experience with continuous integration and automation server like Jenkins Experience with platforms like Kubernetes, Containers, and public cloud services Experience with deployment and monitoring of highly scalable products in a SaaS model Background with Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)

Preferred Skills: Experience with SRE best practices, working knowledge of observability principles is a big plus Develop AWS infrastructure automation using Helm, Terraform, Packer and Ansible Familiarity with scripting (Python, Groovy, Shell) Cloud certification is a plus
