Associate Director[Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity, Stanford, California, United States](hours ago Post Date89545 Requisition Job Purpose Direct the Faculty Engagement function of the [Office of Faculty Development, Diversity and Engagement (OFDDE)](working in conjunction with the Vice Provost OFDDE and under the direction of the Associate Vice Provost OFDDE. This role manages the Gabilan Fellows program, the Faculty Women's Forum, and faculty development programming for women in STEM, as well as others interested in equity in STEM topics. This includes strategy and planning, as well as tactical event logistics, administration and coordination. This position manages the day-to-day function of the IDEAL Provostial Fellows program, including administration, outreach, recruitment, IDEAL Fellows Advisory Council, the Fellows selection process, onboarding, annual conference and networking and development programming for the IDEAL Provostial Fellows. This position is responsible for developing, updating and implementing programs to enhance mentoring for early career faculty members, including developing handbooks, guides and faculty mentoring website, as well as programming for faculty mentors/mentees. The position is also responsible for developing, coordinating and managing engagement and networking events and programs for other identity or interest-based faculty groups in support of IDEAL Engagement mission and goals. Core Duties Develops new faculty engagement programs from initial concept to implementation to meet the needs of a diverse faculty. Manages the administration and evaluation of programs including Gabilan Fellows program, IDEAL Provostial Fellows program, Faculty Women's Forum programs and events, as well as programs and events for other social identity and/or interest-based groups, such as women in STEM, Black/African American faculty, early career faculty, as well as others. Oversees the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries. Develops and implements programs to enhance mentoring for early career faculty members, including developing handbooks, guides and faculty mentoring website, as well as programming for faculty mentors/mentees. Represents faculty engagement programs and groups at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies. Develops and manages outreach strategy that includes relationship development and communications for the Gabilan Fellows program, IDEAL Provostial Fellows, Faculty Women's Forum, as well as other faculty engagement groups. Develops, implements, manages and keeps up-to-date website(s) and social media outreach for faculty engagement programs, Gabilan Fellows program, IDEAL Provostial Fellows and Faculty Women's Forum, as well as others. Keeps abreast of latest research and literature related to faculty development, diversity and engagement and regularly updates OFDDE website resources page(s) with latest best practices and faculty issues in these areas. Acts as a resource for faculty members seeking information on these topics. Oversees or supervises OFDDE staff in the implementation of programs. Performs administrative tasks, event logistics and coordination, as needed. Develops and manages program budgets; manages program finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting. Assists Associate Vice Provost with programs and special projects. Represents the office for key meetings and events in place of the Associate Vice Provost, as needed. Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience. Ph.D. or an Ed.D. strongly preferred, or combination of an M.Ed. and equivalent minimum experience. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence and motivate constituencies which could span multiple organizational boundaries. Demonstrated excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions using good business judgment and innovative and creative problem-solving. Demonstrated ability to manage financial, organizational and staff resources. Demonstrated ability to write handbooks, guides, web pages and other communication or training materials suitable for a faculty audience Excellent interpersonal, listening and communications skills with the ability to cultivate professional relationships and empathy with faculty members. Subject matter expertise related to faculty development, diversity and engagement, including familiarity with research on faculty development and engagement of underrepresented groups within the academy. Flexibility to undertake tasks necessary to implement programs from beginning to end, including high level strategy, as well as tactical hands-on event coordination and administration.
