We work on products and services in the Tanzu portfolio that help users build, run, manage, and observe all of their applications and workloads. Our teams build cloud-native observability solutions that give Developers and Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) the confidence to ship code faster, and to operate highly scalable and distributed workloads while still having a good night's sleep.

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

As a product manager for Developer Experience, You will be responsible for crafting the product's developer experience strategy, driving innovation and defining goals for a unified experience around eventing and logs, how to leverage AI/ML as part of the end to end troubleshooting and root cause analysis flows, enabling our enterprise customers to reduce their MTTR and maintain their SLAs.

Working on observability solutions, you'll be responsible for identifying and addressing the needs of Developers, Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) and Operations Teams as they embrace cloud-native applications based on modern architectures, and operate at scale distributed infrastructure on multi-clouds.

You'll have the opportunity to work on both popular open source technologies (Prometheus, Grafana, Spring Boot, Open Telemetry) and proprietary solutions; contributing to the open-source community but also leveraging the best of what open source has to offer in revenue-driving products.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Our observability solutions enable our customers to sleep at night knowing their platform is healthy, performant, and delivering value. From day one, you'll be contributing towards this goal by understanding user needs and translating those to compelling product capabilities.

You'll be continuously assessing product market fit. You'll be responsible for driving feature adoption within the existing customer base while focusing on new customer acquisition, working closely with the outbound teams on new sales opportunities.

You'll own the rollout of new innovative features, work closely with engineering, internal and external design partners, define an MVP and a rollout project plan .

Most new hires take time during the first few months to ramp up and learn about technology, product, and process. People are most successful when they bring a growth mindset and embrace the discomfort that comes from learning new things.

Even as you're learning, you'll contribute alongside your peers, bringing your unique experiences from your own soft skills, extensive engineering and developer background, to product management best practices, to technical tradeoffs and how those impact our customers. You'll also mentor your peers, using both past and new experiences to help those around you learn and grow.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

You'll conduct customer and market analyses to help shape the product vision and strategy. You will lead the product through various stages from inception to launch. You will work closely with engineering, data scientists, software architects, design, and information experience teams, define product requirements, and drive end to end execution. You'll collaborate with customer field teams and go-to market teams to provide product enablement. You'll create solutions that scale to meet the needs of the world's biggest enterprises.
