The Principal Data Consultant acts as an advisor and interface between the analytics organization and key clinical and business stakeholders to support Population Health and Value-Base Care initiatives.
In collaboration with senior leadership, physicians and multi-disciplinary health care providers, the Principal Data Consultant supports and drives the Population Health Analytic agenda by proactively surfacing potential analytic solutions, scoping solutions in response to clinical and business needs, and working with the organization to deliver solutions according to the strategic priorities.

What you will do Leads development of complex data model and analyses based on clinical and financial information from a variety of internal and external sources, related to utilization of resources, physician practice patterns, system problems Designs analytical processes to identify trends, variances, deficiencies, and problems utilizing aggregated data and information Develops statistical models to evaluate improvement of various clinical and operational initiatives Engages clinical and operational leaders to understand and translate key client business challenges tied to Value-Based Care into potential analytic solutions to support those challenges; Consults stakeholders based on analytical findings Acts as a subject matter expert to help cultivate growth and work at the "top of license" in other analytics team members
Education Qualifications Bachelors degree in nursing, pharmacy or related clinical field required or significant experience analyzing clinical data. Required Masters in Business, Public Health, Engineering, Public Administration, Health Sciences, Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Liberal Arts, System Science, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Operations Research, Marketing Research/Analytics, or comparable disciplines preferred. Preferred
Experience Qualifications Seven years of progressive experience in analytics, statistical modeling, Business Intelligence, analytical software, systems, tools, and processes involving healthcare data. Required Experience working with Electronic Health Records, clinical databases and registries, financial data, and claims-based payor data. Required Epic and/or its related database certification or training Preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Displays a record of self-motivated discovery, intense intellectual curiosity, and a passion for working with data to answer important questions about population health Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis, knowledge of EPIC and the relative databases Excellent in communicating and facilitation skills with project team members, stakeholders, executives, and external customers; Superb written and oral presentation skills, proven ability to communicate on both interpersonal and technical levels and ability to lead through influence Healthcare industry background and experience working with internal and external partners delivering analytic solutions In depth understanding of key clinical and business processes and ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions Demonstrated ability for designing, leading, and completing multiple complex projects. Experience with data manipulation and integration in relational databases Strong background in statistical analyses Advanced knowledge, and contributes to, best practices and common processes for developing solutions with SHC tools (i.e., Crystal Reports, Tableau, Qlikview, etc.) utilized in role These principles apply to ALL employees:
