THIS ROLE IS HYBRID REMOTE. CANDIDATE MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED TO BE ONSITE. Job Summary & Objectives The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support (both hardware and software), for Firm applications, PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Service the local IT support queue to provide timely and accurate resolution to inquiries and reported issues
Build, troubleshoot, maintain inventory, and otherwise support IT assets, including but not limited to laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, mobile devices, audio-visual equipment
Install, and support firm-issued software
Provide assistance with office moves
Diagnose individual and firm-wide problems accurately, distinguishing between software, hardware and/or network issues
Work closely with other technical teams to identify and resolve issues, identify service improvements and enhance overall IT service delivery
Educate end-users and team members on software and support issues
Communicate clear, concise, step-by-step procedures to end-users
Escalate firm-wide system problems according to departmental guidelines
Under the direction of the IT Manager, prioritize issues based on urgency and according to department guidelines
Rack and stack computer networking hardware, under direction of IT Manager
Identify network infrastructure-related issues and make repairs, in conjunction with IT Manager and NY Network Admins
Troubleshoot copiers and printers and works with vendors when necessary
Coordinate loaner laptops, mobile devices and other equipment
Follow up with end-users to ensure issues have been satisfactorily resolved
Document troubleshooting steps to share with IT Manager and others as appropriate
Make suggestions for departmental technical procedures and troubleshooting knowledgebase
Troubleshoot and coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues
Understand all methods of accessing the Firm's systems remotely; effectively troubleshoot user remote access problems, e.g. Citrix, Citrix Remote PC, VPN
Configure, test, and troubleshoot mobile devices. e.g iOS, Android
Engage with end-users to identify service improvements
Participate in technology projects, as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned Education Required High School diploma or GED equivalent required Preferred Microsoft desktop certified, Network+, or comparable certification preferred Technical skill coursework preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements Required 2 + years of relevant experience required
Ability to present information effectively verbally and in writing and communicate step-by-step procedures to users in a clear and concise manner
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS , iManage, MS Office, Document Comparison software (i.e. DeltaView, Change-Pro), Diaries System, SharePoint, VoIP , smartphones, tablets and laptops
Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities and meet deadlines in high pressure environment Strong customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem solving skills Preferred Law Firm experience preferred Physical Demands (required to perform essential job functions) Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Sitting: Remaining in the seated position, particularly for sustained periods of time

Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps using feet and legs or hands and arms
Bending/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine, or by bending legs at knees Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction Work Environment The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as in typical office or administrative work (normal light, air and space in the work environment)
