*EVENTS MANAGER*

The Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) helps individuals and families to stay securely housed so that our communities can thrive.

Our Emergency Housing Fund (EHF) provides timely and thoroughly vetted emergency grants up to $2,500 to individuals and families so they can remain housing-secure and cover unexpected expenses. HIF's

Affordable Housing Initiative (AHI) matches qualified individuals and families living in Santa Clara and San

Mateo counties with apartments at up to 50% below market rates for up to three years. The Renovation

Program upgrades shelters, transitional housing, and community centers at no cost to the organization by leveraging in-kind donations from our network of construction companies, suppliers, and vendors.

We seek an ambitious, hardworking, collaborative, and fun professional to help build a strong, positive culture and leverage our existing support toward greater impact in the community.

*RESPONSIBILITIES*

In collaboration with the HIF Team, the *Events Manager *is responsible for leading HIF's events, and supporting and executing fundraising strategies.

*Events and Fundraising Activities: *
--- Coordinate all of HIFs events, including:

* September Summit fundraiser and multi-family housing networking event
* Home Runs for Housing kickball tournament
* Ride Home cycling and walk event
* Rod Standard Real Estate Luncheon
* Year-end Donor Appreciation party
* Year-end Volunteer Appreciation party
* Help manage and promote other small activities, including board receptions, renovation service days, and others as they come up

Serve as main point of contact for solicitation, correspondence, RSVP management, logistics, volunteers, donor/vendor follow up, and event promotion and management Solicit, research, and develop new ideas for events, changes to existing events, and fundraising strategies to be ahead of the curve on trends and best practices in the sector Lead all Events Committee and subcommittee meetings*Development & Planning: *

--- Help to manage donor database and reporting
--- Assist with managing constituent engagement strategy to maximize HIF's range of donor relationships and event sponsorships

*Marketing & Communications: *
--- Demonstrate superior writing skills and proposal development
--- Relative to HIF Events, help manage HIF's online presence, including HIF website, social media, and email newsletters
--- Prepare Event summaries, impact and evaluation reports, memos, and letters for internal and external publication purposes as needed
--- Solicit and prepare Event sponsor, and volunteer testimonials and stories for marketing purposes
--- Work with HIF volunteers, consultants, and agencies to create and produce media and print content for various platforms and uses, particularly for HIF events

_The above is a general outline of the Event Manager's scope of work. Additional duties and tasks may be assigned as needed in order to support the HIF team and programs._

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

--- 3+ years proven event or related experience, preferably larger scale fundraising events. Trade shows and other relevant events experience is encouraged.

--- Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, who works well both independently and as part of a team

--- Effectively plan and manage all of HIF's events, balancing immediate, mid, and long term needs in a fast-paced and changing environment

--- Excellent relationship building, follow-up, and customer service skills with various HIF stakeholders including sponsors, vendors, volunteers, community partners, and donors

--- Detail-oriented with superior project management competencies and follow-through
--- Collaborative spirit, positive strong work ethic, with the ability to laugh and celebrate successes
--- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite, and ability to learn new platforms where necessary

--- Capability to relate well to public and private funders, event sponsors and attendees, individual contributors, board members, community leaders, volunteers, and staff

--- Must have access to a car, as local travel will be necessary for events and meetings

*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
--- Experience in RE NXT (or similar database system) and social media platforms including Facebook,

LinkedIn, Instagram, & Twitter and other platforms including email marketing (e.g. Mailchimp)

*SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION*
--- Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 - commensurate with experience
* *Full-time position (Monday through Friday; evenings and weekends as needed)
* *Hybrid work schedule
